The Marshalltown Police Department is investigating a burglary incident involving city owned properties located in the 900 block of Woodland Street. The Marshalltown Sewer Division and the Marshalltown Compost Facility reported the burglary on Sunday, May 8. The burglary likely occurred during the overnight hours of Saturday, May 7 and the early morning hours of Sunday, May 8.
Multiple buildings were forcibly entered during this incident. It is believed multiple suspects were involved in this crime. Multiple city vehicles were damaged and city property was stolen from both city vehicles and city buildings. Extensive damage was done to city vehicles and buildings. The property damage is estimated to exceed $30,000.00. There are no suspects at this time. The investigation of this incident is on-going.
